Recall processes every recording on the device in your hand. No personal data ever reaches us — so there is no processor to contract with, no international transfer to assess, and nothing on our side to breach.
Recording, transcription, speaker recognition, summaries, and search all run on the phone. The app has no account system and no telemetry, and makes no network calls while processing your recordings — so Ragondin never processes your participants' personal data, and there is no processor relationship with us to paper over with a DPA.
Because nothing leaves the phone, there is no transfer to a US cloud, no adequacy question, and no standard contractual clauses to maintain for the app's core operation. Your vendor-assessment spreadsheet gets one very short row.
No sign-up, no email address, no identifiers sent anywhere. The only personal data involved is what you choose to record, stored in the app's private on-device storage, encrypted at rest by the operating system — and deletable at any time, instantly and completely.
After the one-time model download, everything works with no connection at all — airplane mode included. It's not a privacy setting you have to trust; it's how the product is built. And it's still a full product: searchable library, named speakers, summaries, chat with your recordings.
Using Recall removes the cloud-vendor questions from your GDPR analysis: no personal data ever reaches us, so for the app's core operation there is no processor, no transfer, and no DPA needed with us. It does not remove your own responsibilities as the person doing the recording. If you record colleagues, clients, or interviewees, you are handling their personal data: you still need a lawful basis, you must inform participants, and national rules on recording conversations still apply.
Recall handles the technical side — local processing, no third parties, easy deletion. Consent and lawfulness are yours. This page is factual product information, not legal advice; for your specific situation, talk to your DPO or legal counsel. Questions about how the app handles data? Email fabien@ragondin.ai.
